Scope
This document describes the phase jitter measurement methods for piezoelectric, dielectric, and electrostatic oscillators, including oscillators using dielectric resonators (DROs) and those using film bulk acoustic resonators (FBARs). It provides guidelines for phase jitter measurement to accurately measure root-mean-square jitter.
This measurement method uses phase noise measurement equipment or phase noise measurement systems.
Note 1: The measurement of dielectric resonators (DROs) and FBAR oscillators is considered here.
Note 2: For the sake of clarity, "piezoelectric, dielectric, and electrostatic oscillators" are referred to as "oscillators" in this document.
