Scope

This standard specifies the pathogen identification methods such as fresh blood smears, staining of thin blood smears, collecting parasites in capillary tubes, and inoculating experimental animals, as well as serological testing techniques such as latex agglutination tests, indirect coagulation tests, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA).
This standard is applicable to the diagnosis, quarantine, and epidemiological investigation of Trypanosoma evansi disease.
