Scope

This document describes the possible pest risk factors of timber used in cross-border transportation and provides a plan for phytosanitary measures.
This document applies to roundwood and sawn timber (with or without bark), materials produced by timber machining, such as wood chips, sawdust, wood fibers, and wood waste (all with or without bark). It does not include wooden packaging, timber products (such as furniture), treated timber (such as pressed, glued, or heat-treated timber), and wooden handicrafts.
This document applies to the timber of gymnosperms and some angiosperms, excluding bamboo and rattan.
This document does not apply to polluting pests that may be carried by timber.
