Scope

This standard specifies the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) method for determining phthalate esters in soil.
This standard is applicable to the determination of six phthalate esters in soil, including: dimethyl phthalate, diethyl phthalate, dibutyl phthalate, butyl benzyl phthalate, (2-ethyl)hexyl phthalate, and dodecyl phthalate. The determination of other phthalate esters should be carried out as a reference.
The detection limit of the method for determining phthalate esters in this standard is 0.02 mg/kg to 0.07 mg/kg, and the lower limit of determination is 0.08 mg/kg to 0.28 mg/kg (see Appendix A).
