Scope

This standard specifies the discontinuous line-array ultrasonic testing method perpendicular to the surface and the longitudinal wave-longitudinal wave-transverse wave (LLT) ultrasonic testing method.
For general principles of ultrasonic testing, see GB/T 39240, and for symbols and definitions, see GB/T 39242.
This standard applies to metal materials with thicknesses between 40 mm and 500 mm, whose upper and lower surfaces are parallel or have coaxial surfaces, and is suitable for the detection of discontinuities perpendicular to the surface with a depth greater than 15 mm. For the detection of other materials and materials with smaller thicknesses, reference may be made for use.
