Scope

Scope: This document specifies the seedling cultivation, seedling transplantation, planting management, maintenance management, pest control, and file management of Handroanthus impetiginosus (Mart. ex DC.) Mattos. This document is applicable to the cultivation of Handroanthus impetiginosus. Main technical content: 4.2.1 Soil preparation for seedbeds: Follow the requirements of LY/T 1000. 4.2.2 Sowing: Soak the seeds in a 1,000-fold solution of 70% Metasulfuron Methyl for 1 hour, then dry the surface moisture and evenly scatter them on the seedling bed at a density of 130 seeds/m2 to 155 seeds/m2. After sowing, cover them with fine sand or lightweight nutrient soil to a depth of 1.5–2.5 cm above the seeds. 4.2.3 Post-sowing management: Water the seedlings once after transplantation and cover them with a film to prevent rainwater erosion. The seeds can germinate in about 7 days. After the seedlings emerge, control the seedling density and promptly remove overly weak or crowded seedlings to ensure even distribution at a density of 100 seedlings/m2. 4.3 Small seedling cultivation 4.3.1 Containers and substrates: Use 7 cm × 12 cm containers. Prepare the substrate according to LY/T 1000. 4.3.2 Transplanting seedlings: When the seedlings have grown more than 5 true leaves and are 6–12 cm tall, transplant the bare-root seedlings to the center of the seedling containers. Follow the transplantation method specified in LY/T 1000. 4.3.3 Seedling management 4.3.3.1 Water and fertilizer: Except on rainy days when the soil is relatively moist, water the seedlings thoroughly once in the morning and evening for the first 7 days after transplantation. After 7 days, water them once daily after 16:00. After 30 days, apply 1–2 fertilizer solutions of 0.1% concentration to promote seedling growth. 4.3.3.2 Shading: Use 50%–70% shading nets for the first 15 days after transplantation to promote seedling growth. After 15 days, cultivate them under full sunlight conditions
