This standard specifies the main interchangeable dimensions and materials of the eye plates and fork heads subject to tensile loads on ships, as well as their connecting bolts or pins.
This standard only applies to components of on-board cargo handling equipment subject to tensile loads (such as round-hole eye plates, pulley head devices, pulley brackets, rope brackets, and tensioning screw buckles).
This standard does not apply to components subject to lateral compression or torsional loads (such as fork-type lifting rod brackets connected to lifting rod gooseneck pins).
