Scope

This standard specifies the material, surface hardness, and roughness of thread pitch gauges, nominal diameters in the metric series, diameter tolerances, diameter inspection methods, marking, and packaging.
This standard applies to the pitch measurement of ordinary threads (M), uniform threads (UN), 55° pipe threads (G, R), 60° sealed pipe threads (NPT, NPSC, NPTF), and trapezoidal threads (Tr) with an inclination angle of less than 5° and a standard pitch. The pitch gauges are mainly used for the pitch calibration of thread plug gauges.
