Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, and minimum performance limits for backpack-type air-spraying machines (two-phase flow) and air-spraying centrifugal machines (as defined in ISO 5681).
This standard applies to backpack-type power sprayers equipped with engines and carried by operators, primarily used in agriculture and horticulture (hereinafter referred to as sprayers).
This standard does not apply to hydraulic sprayers, thermal sprayers, or constant-temperature smoke machines, nor to sprayers used for spraying dry substances.
This standard concerns the droplet deposition potential of sprayers under general technical conditions and specified conditions. This standard does not include safety requirements for the operation of sprayers. Safety requirements are specified in ISO 28139.
