Scope

This document describes the performance test methods and comparison methods for foil gas dynamic thrust bearings. The bearings use air (gas) as the lubrication medium, and the gas dynamic pressure generated by the rotating shaft provides support, eliminating the need for lubricating oil. The test methods presented in this document aim to test and evaluate the static bearing capacity, friction torque, friction coefficient, and service life of foil gas dynamic thrust bearings, and to compare the test results obtained under different test conditions. The test results for static bearing capacity may vary depending on the type of testing equipment used.
