Scope

Except for the following provisions, this chapter of GB 15092.1-2003 applies to:
1.1 Change to:
This part applies to independently installed switches (mechanical or electronic) driven by hand, foot, or other human actions for operating or controlling household or similar electrical appliances and other equipment, with a rated voltage not exceeding 480 V and a rated current not exceeding 63 A.
Such switches are required to be operated by a human through an actuator, or by activating a sensor. The actuator or sensor may be physically or electrically integrated with the switch, or configured separately, and may also include signal transmission between the actuator or sensor and the switch, such as electrical, optical, acoustic, or temperature signal transmission.
Switches with additional control functions required by the on/off function also fall within the scope of this part.
This part also includes indirectly driven switches, where the operation of the actuator or sensor is achieved by a remote control, a part of the appliance or equipment (such as a door).
Note 1: Electronic switches may be combined with mechanical switches that provide complete disconnection or micro-disconnection.
Note 2: Electronic switches without mechanical switches in the power circuit only provide electronic disconnection. Therefore, the circuit on the load side is always considered to be energized.
Note 3: For switches used in tropical climates, additional requirements or alternative requirements may be necessary.
Note 4: Note that appliance standards may contain additional or alternative requirements for switches.
Note 5: In this part, the term "appliance" always refers to "appliance or equipment".
