GB/T 43385-2023 Environmental management systems—Guidelines for a flexible approach to phased implementation
Basic Information
Scope
This document provides guidance for organizations, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), to establish, implement, maintain, and continuously improve an environmental management system in a phased approach, with the aim of enhancing their environmental performance. The phased approach offers flexibility, allowing organizations to develop their environmental management system at their own pace through several stages based on their individual circumstances. Each stage consists of six consecutive steps. The five-level maturity matrix provided in Appendix A can be used to describe the maturity of the system at the end of each stage. This document is applicable to any organization, regardless of its current environmental performance, the nature of the activities it conducts, or the locations where these activities take place. The phased approach enables organizations to develop a system that ultimately meets the requirements of GB/T 24001. This document does not cover specific system elements beyond GB/T 24001, nor does it aim to provide an interpretation of the requirements of GB/T 24001.
