Scope

This document specifies the method for reproducing road loads on a chassis dynamometer for automobiles.
This document is applicable to automobiles with a maximum design total mass not exceeding 3,500 kg, and M1, M2, and N2 class automobiles with a maximum design total mass exceeding 3,500 kg but not exceeding 4,500 kg, which shall refer to and implement this document accordingly.
The coastdown method described in this document sets the load requirements for the chassis dynamometer, and is applicable to the setting of road loads for test vehicles measured by the coastdown method or the wind tunnel method.
The torque meter method described in this document sets the load requirements for the chassis dynamometer, and is applicable to the setting of driving resistance for test vehicles measured by the torque meter method.
