Scope

This standard specifies the basic requirements such as the types and dimensions of trapezoidal thread taps (high performance grade and ordinary grade), thread tolerances, technical requirements, marking, and packaging.
This standard applies to trapezoidal thread taps (hereinafter referred to as taps) used for processing ordinary trapezoidal threads (GB/T 5796.1 to GB/T 5796.4).
The types of taps are divided into Type I (short type) and Type II (long type).
