Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements for manual and mechanical weather-tight hinged doors, sliding doors, and outward-opening doors in the cabin and service areas of large yachts, taking into account factors such as navigation conditions and equipment placement. This standard only considers the design loads applied to the doors and transmitted to the door frames and adjacent structures. Loads transmitted from the yacht structure to the doors or their connected door frames are not within the scope of this standard. This standard does not include frameless glass doors. This standard does not include forward-facing multi-door systems on open-air decks. The large yachts covered by this standard have a draft of more than or equal to 24 m, and are suitable for sports, recreation, and commercial operations.
