Scope
This standard specifies the method outline for the determination of silicon in uranium dioxide powder and pellets, reagents and materials, instruments and equipment, samples, analysis steps, result calculation, and method precision.
This standard is applicable to the determination of silicon in uranium dioxide powder and pellets, and also to the determination of silicon in nuclear-grade uranium trioxide. When the sampling amount of the alkali fusion method is 0.5 g, the determination range is 10 μg/g to 80 μg/g; when the sampling amount of the acid dissolution method is 0.2 g, the determination range is 10 μg/g to 300 μg/g.
The allowable amounts of the main interfering elements in the samples are: As is 30 μg/g, and P is 250 μg/g.
