Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the residual amounts of testosterone, epitestosterone, and progesterone in bovine liver and beef by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. This standard is applicable to the determination of the residual amounts of testosterone, epitestosterone, and progesterone in bovine liver and beef. The detection limits of the method specified in this standard are: 0.5 μg/kg for testosterone, epitestosterone, and progesterone in liver; 0.1 μg/kg for testosterone and epitestosterone in muscle; and 0.5 μg/kg for progesterone in muscle.
