Scope
Scope: This standard specifies the origin, characteristics, cultivation key points, yield level, and features of the rice variety Jijing 816. This standard is applicable to the variety identification and production application of Jijing 816. Main technical contents: 1. Variety origin: The variety was developed by the Jilin Academy of Agricultural Sciences. In 2008, it was bred by crossing an excellent progeny line of "Jifeng 20-28/Coo" as the female parent and the Japanese high-quality rice resource "Xintai" as the male parent. The progeny was selected and bred by pedigree method. In 2018, it was approved by the Jilin Crop Variety Approval Committee, with the approval number Jilin Crop Variety Approval 20180043. 2. Variety characteristics: The plant height is 112.8 cm, with a compact plant type, erect sword leaves, green stem and leaves, and strong tillering ability. The effective number of panicles per hectare is 3,270,000. The grain is elliptical, with the palea and palea apex being yellow, without awns, and the 1,000-grain weight being 25.5 g. The panicle length is 19.6 cm, with a curved panicle type, neat main tillering panicles, an average number of 1,389 grains per panicle, moderate grain density, and a setting rate of 87.6%. The rice quality meets the requirements of "Second-class" Japonica rice varieties in NY/T 593-2013. In Jilin Province, it is a late-ripening variety with a growth period of 147 days and a minimum active temperature sum of ≥10℃ of 2,950℃. It is suitable for late-ripening rice-growing areas such as Siping, Jilin, and Changchun in Jilin Province. 3. Cultivation key points 4. Yield level: In regional trials, the average yield per hectare was 8,150.9 kg (2016-2017), an increase of 6.3% compared with the control variety "Akita Komachi"; in production trials, the average yield per hectare was 8,277.4 kg (2017), an increase of 9.1% compared with the control variety "Akita Komachi".
