Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage for recycled copper wire billets used in electrical applications, which are produced from mixed copper scraps through pyrometallurgical refining and continuous casting and rolling.
This standard applies to circular cross-section copper wire billets with a diameter of 6.0 mm to 35.0 mm, intended for further drawing into electrical wires or other electrical copper conductors.
