Scope

Scope: This standard specifies the selection and planning of orchards for the production of green food citrus, seedling cultivation, planting, soil and water management, pruning and shaping, flower and fruit management, pest and disease prevention and control, harvest and packaging, storage and transportation; Main technical content: 3.1 Site selection and planning 3.1.1 Climate conditions: The average annual temperature should be above 17°C, preferably 18°C–23°C. Temperatures below 12°C or above 40°C during the growing season are unfavorable for normal growth. The cumulative temperature above 10°C should be 5,500–6,000°C, and the effective annual temperature above 12.5°C should be 2,500–3,500°C. The annual rainfall should be 1,000 mm, with a relative humidity (RH) requirement of 75%. The frost-free period should be 250–300 days. It shall comply with the provisions of NY/T 391. 3.1.2 Soil conditions: Preferably, the soil should be deep, fertile, loose, well-ventilated, with good drainage, and a pH value of 5.5–7.0 (slightly acidic to neutral). Organic matter-rich, gravel-containing red or yellow soils are ideal. The soil layer should be ≥80 cm thick, with a cultivatable layer of ≥60 cm; the organic matter content should be ≥1.5%, preferably ≥3%; and the groundwater level should be ≤1.0 m, with a relative soil moisture of 60–80%. It shall comply with the provisions of NY/T 391. 3.1.3 Water source conditions: The area should be located in an area with clean, pollution-free surface and groundwater, far from factories and mines that pollute water. Irrigation water should not contain pollutants, especially heavy metals such as mercury, lead, chromium, cadmium, benzene, and cyanide, which should not exceed the standard.
