Scope

This standard specifies the energy efficiency limits, energy efficiency grades, test methods, and inspection rules for fully enclosed electric motor compressors used in air conditioners (hereinafter referred to as compressors). This standard applies to fully enclosed rotary compressors and scroll compressors used in room air conditioners under nominal operating conditions with an input power of no more than 5,000 W. Compressors used solely as repair parts for room air conditioners are not applicable to this standard. Other compressors for similar purposes may be used as a reference.
