Scope
This standard specifies the design, construction, installation, and testing requirements for the electrical systems of small boats.
This standard applies to small boats with a length of no more than 50 m or a total registered tonnage of no more than 500 GRT, which are used for inland and maritime navigation.
This standard does not apply to small boats that are powered solely by batteries for engine starting and navigation lights, where the batteries are charged by an AC generator that drives the engine either inside or outside the boat.
