Scope

This standard specifies the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and gas chromatography (GC) methods for the determination of phthalate esters in cosmetics.
This standard is applicable to the determination of the content of phthalate esters in cosmetics. Among them, the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method and the high-performance liquid chromatography method are suitable for the determination of 22 kinds of phthalate ester compounds in cosmetics; the gas chromatography method is suitable for the determination of 18 kinds of phthalate ester compounds in cosmetics (except for nail polish and lipstick).
