Scope

This standard specifies the radiation control levels in the workplace, radiation protection requirements, and radiation protection detection methods in clinical nuclear medicine diagnosis and treatment activities. This standard applies to nuclear medicine diagnosis and treatment activities using single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), positron emission tomography (PET), and gamma cameras for image diagnosis, as well as radioisotope therapy. This standard does not apply to diagnosis and treatment activities such as bone density measurement, low-energy gamma ray particle source implantation therapy, and radioisotope patch therapy, as well as work processes such as the production of radioisotopes and radiopharmaceuticals.
