Scope

This document describes the principles, reagents and materials, instrumentation, experimental procedures, data processing, recovery rate, and precision of the high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for determining astaxanthin in cosmetics. This document is applicable to the determination of astaxanthin in water-based products, emulsions, creams, and face masks. The method has a detection limit of 0.15 mg/kg and a quantification limit of 0.50 mg/kg.
