Scope

This standard specifies the principles, detection methods, procedures, and result reporting for SSR molecular markers used to verify the authenticity and purity of corn (Zea mays L.) varieties.
This standard is applicable to the verification of the authenticity and identification of corn varieties, but not to the identification of essentially derived varieties (EDVs) and genetically modified varieties.
This standard is applicable to the determination of the purity of single-cross corn varieties. The determination of the purity of inbred, double-cross, and triple-cross varieties can be carried out with reference to this standard.
