Scope

This standard specifies the safety, health physics, and criticality requirements for enriched uranium hexafluoride products with a 235U enrichment of less than 5%, as well as the chemical, physical, and isotopic requirements, sampling methods, and test methods for chemical and isotopic analysis, and labeling, packaging, transportation, and storage. This standard applies to enriched uranium hexafluoride products obtained by enriching commercial natural uranium hexafluoride or by blending commercial natural uranium hexafluoride with reprocessed uranium hexafluoride, as well as to enriched uranium hexafluoride products with a 235U enrichment of less than 5% obtained by blending enriched uranium hexafluoride with other low-enrichment uranium hexafluoride.
