Scope

This document specifies the product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage, and ordering and supply of induction heat treatment devices.
This document is applicable to induction heating devices with operating frequencies of low frequency, utility frequency, or medium frequency (up to 100 kHz), which are used to heat metal billets or workpieces completely or partially for subsequent hot forming (such as forging, extrusion, and rolling). Induction heating devices for heat treatment and other purposes, as well as superconducting DC induction heat treatment devices, can also be implemented in accordance with this document.
