Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for the handling and storage of samples for surface chemical analysis. This standard is applicable to users of surface chemical analysis equipment who need to understand the special sample handling requirements of surface chemical analysis techniques, especially Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS or ESCA).
