Scope
This standard specifies the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GCMS) method for determining paraffin hydrocarbons in beeswax. This standard is applicable to the determination of paraffin hydrocarbons in beeswax from the Chinese honeybee (Apis cerana) (hereinafter referred to as "Chinese beeswax") and the Italian honeybee (Apis mellifera ligustica) (hereinafter referred to as "Italian beeswax"). The detection limit for paraffin hydrocarbons in beeswax specified in this standard is 10%.
