This document specifies the classification and names of special-purpose vehicles and special-purpose trailers, the structural feature codes and usage feature codes, and the method of model compilation.
This document applies to the design, manufacture, and technical characteristics of special-purpose vehicles and special-purpose trailers that are driven on roads.
This document does not apply to special vehicles at civil airports, modular unit vehicles, and hydraulic suspension trailers.
