This document specifies the terms and definitions, operating conditions, rated values, and general requirements for dry-type transformers, including tap changers, connection groups, short-circuit withstand capability, nameplates, temperature rise limits, insulation levels, climate and environment, combustion performance grades, seismic resistance, testing, deviations, protection against direct contact, enclosure protection levels, grounding terminals, information required for inquiries and orders, as well as installation and safety aspects.
This document applies to dry-type power transformers (including autotransformers, hereinafter referred to as transformers) with a maximum voltage of 72.5 kV or less, and at least one winding with a voltage higher than 1.1 kV.
This document does not apply to:
——pneumatic dry-type transformers (when the gas used for filling is not air);
——single-phase transformers with a rated capacity of less than 5 kVA;
——multi-phase transformers with a rated capacity of less than 15 kVA;
——instruments transformers;
——starting transformers;
——test transformers;
——electric locomotive traction transformers;
——explosion-proof mining transformers;
——welding transformers;
——voltage regulating transformers;
——small power transformers with a strong emphasis on safety.
When there are no corresponding standards for the above-mentioned transformers or other special transformers, this document can be applied in whole or in part.
