This standard specifies the terms and definitions, grading and specifications, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and packaging, marking, transportation, and storage for silica sand used in casting.
This standard applies to silica sand used in molding and core making in casting production, including artificial silica sand and natural silica sand such as washed sand, scrubbed sand, and selected sand.
