GB/T 7584.6-2026 Acoustics—Hearing protectors—Part 6:Determination of sound attenuation of active noise reduction earmuffs
Abstract
This document specifies the test method for active noise reduction (ANR) headphones and the calculation steps to obtain the total sound attenuation. To achieve this goal, it is also necessary to know and measure the sound attenuation in passive mode according to ISO 4869-1. These methods are suitable for steady-state noise exposure, but not for noise containing impulse components.
The test methods in this document use the passive real-ear hearing threshold attenuation (RAET) method and the active real-ear microphone insertion (MIRE) technique specified in ISO 4869-1 and ISO 11904-1 to consider the sound interaction between the wearer and the device.
