This document specifies the technical requirements for DC plugs and sockets for household and similar applications, including classification, marking, protection against electric shock, structure, mechanical performance, and electrical performance. This document applies to plugs and fixed or mobile sockets used indoors or outdoors for DC power only, with a rated voltage not exceeding 400 V and a rated current not exceeding 32 A. For DC sockets with non-threaded terminals, the maximum rated current is limited to 16 A. The plugs and sockets covered by this document are suitable for circuits that have implemented the following protections: -- Basic protection; -- Overcurrent protection (based on a maximum current of 16 A per socket); -- Fault protection (indirect contact protection); and -- Additional protection. DC plugs and sockets that meet the requirements of this document are suitable for use in environments where the temperature typically does not exceed +40°C, but does not exceed +35°C during an average 24-hour period. For sockets installed in equipment, the ambient temperature around the installation location should not exceed 35°C. In special conditions, such as on ships, in vehicles, and in potentially explosive hazardous areas, special structures may be required.
