Abstract
This part specifies the special safety requirements for DC electronic ballasts used in continuous emergency lighting and non-continuous emergency lighting. This part includes specific requirements for ballasts and control devices used in emergency lighting luminaires as described in IEC 60598-2-22. DC electronic ballasts for emergency lighting may or may not be equipped with batteries. This part also includes all working condition requirements for the performance of other DC electronic ballasts. This is because non-functioning emergency lighting equipment can pose a safety hazard.
