This document specifies the safety requirements for insulation boards, insulation dishes, and similar appliances used for keeping food or containers warm for household and similar purposes.
This document applies to insulation boards, insulation dishes, and similar appliances used for keeping food or containers warm for household and similar purposes with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V. It also applies to appliances used for general household and similar purposes, and may also be used by non-professionals in shops, light industry, and farms.
However, if the appliance is intended to be operated by professionals to keep tableware warm or process food for commercial purposes, then the appliance is not considered to be solely for household and similar purposes.
The common hazards of the appliances covered by this document may be encountered by all people in and around residential areas. However, in general, this document does not consider the following situations.
