1.1 This document specifies the general design requirements and basic design requirements for pressure vessels.
1.2 This document applies to the design and calculation of internally pressurized cylinders and spherical shells, externally pressurized cylinders and spherical shells, heads, openings and opening reinforcements, and flanges.
1.3 This document specifies the basic design requirements for non-circular section containers (see Appendix A), steel strip wound cylinders (see Appendix B), commonly used sealing structures (see Appendix C), welded joint structures (see Appendix D), jacketed containers (see Appendix G), basic design requirements for containers with design temperatures below -20 °C (see Appendix E), and verification methods for preventing low-temperature brittle fracture in pressure vessels (see Appendix F).
