GB/T 3836.9-2021 Explosive atmospheres—Part 9:Equipment protection by encapsulation “m”
Abstract
This document specifies the special requirements for the structure, testing, and marking of electrical equipment, electrical equipment components, and Ex components protected by potting type "m" for use in explosive gas environments or explosive dust environments.
This document applies to potting-type electrical equipment, potting components of electrical equipment, and potting Ex components (hereinafter collectively referred to as "m" equipment) with a rated voltage not exceeding 11 kV.
For electrical equipment used in environments where explosive gases and combustible dust may occur simultaneously, additional protective measures are required.
This document does not apply to pyrophoric dust of explosive substances that do not require oxygen in the atmosphere to burn, nor to self-igniting substances.
This document does not consider the hazards posed by combustible or toxic gases released from dust.
This document supplements and modifies the general requirements of GB/T 3836.1. When the requirements of this document conflict with those of GB/T 3836.1, the requirements of this document shall take precedence.
