Abstract
This document specifies the general requirements for side-scan sonar surveys, instrumentation requirements, pre-survey preparation, marine measurement, data processing and interpretation, map compilation and report preparation, as well as requirements for inspection and acceptance and data archiving.
This document is applicable to side-scan sonar surveys of various scales in the ocean, and can also be used as a reference for surveys in lakes, rivers, and other water bodies.
