Abstract
This document specifies a method for determining the strain hardening modulus, which is used to evaluate the resistance of polyethylene materials to slow crack growth.
This document provides a method for obtaining the strain hardening modulus by measuring the stress-strain curves of injection-molded specimens. It details the required equipment, accuracy, and sample preparation methods to obtain valid data.
The test method specified in this document is applicable to various polyethylene materials used in pipes and fittings, regardless of the polyethylene production technology or the type of comonomers and catalysts.
Note: This method can also be used for material development for other applications.
