GB/T 44491.1-2024 Geographic information—Preservation of digital data and metadata—Part 1:Fundamentals
Abstract
This document specifies the preservation of metadata as an extension of ISO 19115-1.
This document specifies the requirements for the long-term preservation of digital geospatial data. These data also include metadata, presentation information, traceability, context, and other elements necessary to gain a thorough understanding and reuse of archived data. This document also provides characteristics of data formats that facilitate archiving.
Geospatial data are preserved in the form of geospatial information packages (IPs). This document specifies the requirements for geospatial archived IPs, as well as detailed information on geospatial submitted IPs and distributed IPs. Geospatial archived IPs are self-describing, allowing the reconstruction of datasets without external documentation in the future.
