Abstract
This standard specifies the test methods for the electrical/electronic components of vehicles to withstand electrostatic discharge (ESD) that may occur during assembly, maintenance, and when passengers are in or outside the vehicle, including component and whole-vehicle level tests.
This standard applies to electrical and electronic components used in M, N, O, and L-class vehicles (without limiting the vehicle power systems, such as spark-ignition engines, diesel engines, and electric motors).
