This document describes the stability, strength, and durability testing methods for fully assembled beds (including bed frames and mattresses). This document is applicable to all types of adult beds, but not to water beds, inflatable beds, fold-up beds, bunk beds, beds for special needs, or nursing and medical beds. This document does not include evaluation methods for product aging, degradation, fire resistance, or electric functions. The strength and durability of storage components, seat surfaces, and other bed-related functions are tested using other standards. If the bed has additional functions such as storage, electric adjustment, or conversion from a sofa to a bed, additional testing is applicable. This document does not specify load requirements, cycle counts, or force values, which are specified in the requirements document. If no requirements document is available, you can refer to the recommended load and cycle counts in Appendix A. The testing methods in this document do not evaluate the durability of soft components, such as filling materials and upholstery surfaces.
