Abstract

This standard specifies the method for verifying the power characteristics of single horizontal-axis wind turbine generators, excluding small-scale wind turbine generators covered by IEC 614002. This standard is applicable when specific operating conditions or contractual requirements do not meet the requirements of GB/T 18451.2-2012. It can be used to evaluate the performance of specific wind turbine generators in specific geographical locations. Similarly, it can be used to conduct routine comparisons of wind turbine generators of different types or configurations. The power curves and estimated annual electricity generation measured using the nacelle anemometer method are affected by the wind turbine rotor (i.e., when the wind speed increases or decreases). The nacelle wind speed should be corrected for airflow distortion effects, and this standard specifies the procedure for determining this correction method. In GB/T 18451.2-2012, the anemometer is installed in a wind tower located 2 to 4 times the diameter of the wind turbine rotor upwind of the tested wind turbine generator. This location ensures that the wind turbine rotor has minimal impact on the "free-stream" wind speed measurement. In this standard procedure, the anemometer is installed at the top of or near the nacelle of the tested wind turbine generator, where the measured wind speed is significantly affected by the wind turbine rotor and the nacelle. This procedure includes determining and applying relevant correction methods for this impact. However, it should be noted that compared with the strict testing requirements of GB/T 18451.2-2012, this correction inevitably increases the uncertainty. This standard specifies how to characterize the power characteristics of wind turbine generators based on the test power curves and estimated annual electricity generation. The test power curves are obtained by simultaneously measuring the nacelle wind speed and output power during a test period long enough to
