Abstract
This standard specifies the basic terms and definitions of threads.
This standard applies to symmetrical threads and asymmetrical threads, or cylindrical threads and conical threads.
When there is more than one term corresponding to a definition, the term in black bold should be preferred.
Appendix A lists some terms that are not defined in the main body of the standard.
For the French, German, Japanese, and Swedish terms that are equivalent to Chinese and English thread terms, please refer to Appendix B.
