GB/T 1979-2025 Evaluation of macrostructural defects in structural steels—Acid etching method and ultrasonic testing method
Abstract
This document describes the evaluation of low-magnification structural steel defects using acid immersion and ultrasonic testing methods, including the principle of acid immersion, defect classification, characteristics, causes, and evaluation principles; the classification and application scope of evaluation charts; and the principle of ultrasonic testing, instruments and equipment, comparison test pieces, testing conditions and steps, and result evaluation.
This document is applicable to the evaluation of low-magnification structural defects in carbon structural steel, alloy structural steel, and spring steel (forged and rolled billets). The evaluation of low-magnification defects in other steels shall be conducted in accordance with this document.
