This document specifies the test requirements, types, conditions, and methods for locomotives and rolling stock before they are put into use.
This document applies to locomotives, passenger cars, freight cars, power-dispersed electric multiple units (hereinafter referred to as "EMUs"), urban (suburban) railways, and urban rail transit (hereinafter referred to as "urban railways and urban rail transit") vehicles. Other models can be used as reference.
This document does not apply to self-propelled vehicles, such as tracked vehicles, railway rescue cranes, track-laying machines, bridge-erecting machines (groups), overhead line operating vehicles, and large road maintenance machinery.
Note 1: The applicable parts of this document are determined according to the type of locomotives and rolling stock (such as locomotives, passenger cars, freight cars, EMUs, urban railways, and urban rail transit vehicles, etc.).
Note 2: The scope of application of this document does not include tracked vehicles, road vehicles, and railway locomotive vehicles used for the construction and maintenance of railway infrastructure.
Note 3: This document does not involve tests conducted on components or equipment before the assembly of locomotives and rolling stock.
If applicable, this document is used for the following aspects:
—— Generator sets installed on locomotives and rolling stock for auxiliary use;
—— Electric drive systems for trolleybuses or similar locomotive vehicles;
—— Control and auxiliary equipment for locomotives and rolling stock with non-electric traction systems;
—— Locomotives and rolling stock guided, levitated, or electrically driven by systems that do not use wheel-rail adhesion.
