GB/T 14420-2014 Analysis of water used in boiler and cooling system—Determination of chemical oxygen demand—Rapid method with potassium dichromate
Abstract
This standard specifies the method for determining the chemical oxygen demand in boiler water and cooling water — the rapid potassium dichromate method.
The volumetric method in this standard is applicable to the determination of chemical oxygen demand in water samples such as natural water, boiler water, demineralized water, and industrial circulating cooling water, with a measurement range of 0 mg/L to 50 mg/L (calculated as oxygen). Water samples with a concentration greater than 50 mg/L should be diluted before measurement.
The spectrophotometric method in this standard is applicable to the determination of chemical oxygen demand in water samples such as surface water, groundwater, domestic wastewater, and industrial wastewater, with a measurement range of 50 mg/L to 1,000 mg/L (calculated as oxygen). The chloride ion concentration must not exceed 1,000 mg/L. Water samples with a concentration greater than 1,000 mg/L or a chloride ion content greater than 1,000 mg/L should be diluted before measurement.
