GB/T 16422.4-2014 Plastics—Methods of exposure to laboratory light sources—Part 4:Open-flame carbon-arc lamps
Abstract
This part of GB/T 16422 specifies the test method for samples exposed to humid conditions under an open carbon arc lamp, which is used to simulate the natural aging effect of materials exposed to sunlight or sunlight filtered through window glass in actual use environments.
This part is applicable to the weatherability evaluation of plastics under carbon arc lamp exposure conditions and the comparative weatherability tests between plastics.
The samples are exposed to filtered open carbon arc lamps under controlled environmental conditions (temperature, humidity). There are various filters available for selection.
The sample preparation and result evaluation for specific materials refer to other national standards.
The general principles are given in GB/T 16422.1.
